Greetings !

I am currently an assistant professor in the department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona, Tucson. As an economic geologist and igneous petrologist, I investigate the relationships between arc magmatism and ore deposits to unravel magmatic processes that dictate the ore-forming potential of magmas. I am addressing a key question in economic geology: Why are some continental arc segments endowed with ore deposits while others are barren?

Over the past years, I developed a strong interest in the petrogenesis of arc magmas and the evolution of volatiles (H2O, S) and economic metals during melt differentiation in the lithosphere. My research also focuses on hydrothermal processes that are directly responsible for the formation of ore deposits with a special interest in porphyry-epithermal Cu-(Mo-Au) systems and orogenic gold deposits. I use a multidisciplinary approach that includes fieldwork, petrography, fluid/melt inclusions, whole rock and mineral geochemistry and geochronology.

I am currently looking for passionate and engaging students to work with, so feel free to contact me if you are interested or have any questions.
